Jamboree on the Trail 2010 Saturday, May 8, 2010 Scouts Walking Together World Wide
Jamboree on the trail (JOTT) is an annual day for the World Scouting Movement to hike together. All in Scouting, whatever age and wherever they maybe in the world, are invited to participate in whatever way they can. Beavers could visit a nature trail as part of a weekend camp. A Scout Patrol/ Troop or Cub Six/Pack might check out a hiking trail while working on badge requirements. A Venturer Company or Rover Crew could make a Service Project out of restoring or maintaining a hiking trail. In their own way, everyone will be hiking in the same direction, towards a better future through Scouting. Again this year, the 40th BP Guild is offering to host a hike for the Coho Area. The starting point will be the Port Moody Train Museum anytime after 9:30am. Everyone is encouraged to follow the Shoreline Trail (part of our Trans Canada Trial System) to the Old Orchard Community Center, and then after walking, running, cycling, and piggy backing or by whatever means you devise, be back to the museum before 3:00pm. There will be a hamburger BBQ at the Museum on your return.
Tickets for a hamburger and drink are
$2.50 per person and for those that purchase before March 25th
the guild will supply a JOTT participation badge. Afterwards, last day to
register is April 25th, the cost is still $2.50 but you will
be responsible for obtaining your own badge as will be too late for us
to order it in time for the event - so it pays to register on time –
before March 25th!
