DCC Training & Program Announcements

Dear Fraser Valley Scouters,

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of two new Deputy Council Commissioners:

Sarah Hadden – DCC Program
Jim White – DCC Training

Sarah has been a member of Scouts Canada for 10 years. In that time she has severed in many roles: Colony and Pack Scouter, Group Administrator, DAC Special Events for Fraser Cheam and most recently as Group Commissioner 2nd Abbottsford (for a second time!)

Sarah has a tremendous amount of experience planning and managing events and she is passionate about helping to deliver safe, fun Scouting adventures. I know she is going to be a great resource to all Scouters in the Council.

Jim’s work in Scouting goes back to 1981 when he joined 4th PoCo as a Section Scouter and he’s still active with the group to this day. For the past four years, Jim has also served as DAC Training for Fraser Cheam.

Many of you will already know Jim as one of the regular Wood Badge Course Leads and as a mentor to many of the Trainers in the Fraser Valley.  Jim has been active as Trainer in Scouting for many years and in his own words he has participated in leading an “uncountable” number of Wood Badge sessions. Jim has a great vison for what we can do with In Person training and Scouter Development in the Fraser Valley and I’m looking forward to seeing the results of his work.

I’d like to thank DeEtte Bryce and Greg Kear for their service to Fraser Valley Council as DCC Program and DCC Training respectively. We wish you well in you next adventures.

Please join me in welcoming Sarah and Jim to the Fraser Valley Council Service Team. They can each be reached by email at: and

Yours in Scouting
Dave Russell, Council Commissioner
