JOTT – Jamboree on the Trail

IT’S THAT TIME of year again when Group and Section teams are working at putting
together great programming for the upcoming year. DON’T FORGET to put JOTT on the
list of must do. For many of our youth it is the one World Scouting Event that they get to
do and Coho Area Scouting with the help of the Baden-Powell Guild is a large part of it!
Here are but a few of the comments from 2015’s event held at Belcarra Park. As you can
see; GOOD TIMES!
I find JOTT to be one of our “must go” events each year. It is well planned in advance and
flexible in regards to offerings (we have vegetarians). We’re trying to get more Cubs to join us
as we think it would be excellent for them as well. Some other events are very last-minute and
tentative which makes it hard to plan them into the calendar – JOTT is not like that. JOTT has
always been well planned and executed. Thank you for an excellent event.
We plan to come every year and I put it on our calendar in September.
We enjoyed the day – beautiful weather / they enjoy geo-caching and the location itself has a
variety of natural benefits
….enjoyed the outing and the chance to meet some friends from other groups as well.
Loved the fill in activities and the park kept the kids busy while we waited for food, nice easy
hike with beach access, again the kids loved, and gorgeous location!
We just wanted to thank all the organizers for a great first experience (for us) with JOTT. It
made our jobs really easy and we really appreciated that you gave options for Gluten free.
….any activity that we can attend that is already planned out and organized for us is pure
Bonus….Us leaders really enjoyed the day
All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are
invited to participate in whatever way they can. In their own way, everyone will
be hiking the same direction: towards a better future through Scouting. So plan
NOW to attend next years JOTT on Saturday May 14th, 2016.
Again this coming year, the 40th Canadian Baden-Powell Guild will host the
event at Belcarra Park and will take care of all the details – all you have to do is
PARTICIPATE and have a GREAT TIME. More details will come out later this
fall – registration is limited and will begin in January – budget cost will be $5.00
per participant – includes registration, barbecue and a badge.
